The “BreslauRed” project is located in a 1930s building in Wrocław, Poland. Studio Pandom developed the interior in response to the building’s history, original materials and architectural details.

The key inspiration was the original red concrete floor, characteristic of modernist architecture of the period. Its colour, together with the city’s historical name, Breslau, determined the name of the project.

The original character of the space was preserved through the restoration of the door joinery and cast-iron radiators, painted in deep, dark tones. At the same time, the layout was adapted to contemporary needs: relocating the kitchen alcove made it possible to create a separate bedroom while retaining the openness of the living area.

New elements complement the historical details, while contemporary technical solutions and carefully selected materials contribute to the comfort and durability of the interior. Sculptures, paintings, photographs and ceramics, mostly by artists connected with Wrocław, further define the space and emphasise its local context.
The result is an interior rooted in the building’s history and adapted to contemporary living.
