The “FireIQ” project is a fire protection system that combines a redesigned fire extinguisher, sensor technology and a digital platform, transforming passive safety equipment into active, connected infrastructure. The system provides continuous insight into the condition of each extinguisher and the environmental conditions of the space in which it is installed, while a digital certificate accessed through a QR code offers transparent information and a complete maintenance history for every unit.

Continuous data collection and transmission remove the periods of limited visibility between physical inspections and enable changes affecting the equipment’s condition or availability to be identified promptly. Digital monitoring also reduces the need for routine service visits and the operational burden of maintenance.

The project brings together the physical product, data and maintenance processes within a unified preventive fire safety system. Particular attention is given to sustainability through PFAS-free materials, lower-impact steel and fewer on-site interventions. “FireIQ” therefore redefines both the monitoring and maintenance of fire safety equipment and its role within the built environment.
