The visual identity concept starts from the library as a place of connection, knowledge exchange, and openness towards the community. Libraries are seen as a living system – a network of people, content, and ideas. Inspired by the multitude of libraries in the city of Zagreb, the identity uses rectangles symbolising books, which, through modular arrangement, form the letter Z. The logo originates from books and visually emphasises the idea that knowledge builds the city and community.

Geometric simplicity enables a contemporary, clear, and easily recognisable identity, while the modular system ensures high adaptability to various communication contexts. The rectangles also function as independent graphic elements, creating a coherent yet dynamic visual language.

The identity is particularly focused on clear content communication through categories such as notices, exhibitions, talks, events, youth spaces, and collections, which differ in colour and module structure. The system also includes the KGZ programme leaflet for presenting the monthly activities of all libraries in the network. This makes it easier for users to navigate, and libraries are positioned as accessible, open, and contemporary cultural institutions.
