The Croatian Designers Association (HDD) is a professional association of designers in Croatia that develops a broad platform for thinking about design and its role in contemporary society through exhibitions, education, publishing and other programmes. HDD Gallery is one of the country’s most active spaces dedicated to design, while the Association’s publishing programme has for years produced books and publications on design, visual culture, individual practitioners, design history and contemporary practice.

At the ZGDW Market, HDD will present a selection from more than fifty titles. These include monographs and books on important figures such as Mihajlo Arsovski, Mirko Ilić, Boris Ljubičić, Nedeljko Dragić and Dušan Bekar, as well as publications devoted to specific themes such as the relationship between design and photography or unusual forms in design, alongside illustrated dialogues by contemporary authors.

The selection will also include specialist publications such as Robert Bringhurst’s seminal book on typography and the extensive “Croatian Design Review” editions, documenting key developments in Croatian design over the past decades. HDD’s publications are not intended only for professionals – they are accessible, visually engaging and equally suited to readers who are only beginning to explore design and visual culture.
