Valentina Hajdu

Cineclub Zagreb

Project

The project presents a conceptual visual identity for a fictional Short Film Evening organised by Cineclub Zagreb. It comprises three posters and a 16-page promotional booklet featuring a carefully selected programme of short films from the Cineclub Zagreb archive. Although the event is fictional, the films presented are real.

The project explores how contemporary graphic design can communicate the atmosphere and narrative of different films through expressive typography, carefully selected imagery and a consistent visual language. Each poster interprets the theme and mood of its corresponding film, while the booklet complements the series by presenting the programme in a clear and engaging editorial format.

The work originated as an academic assignment simulating the visual communication of a cultural event.

Author

Valentina Hajdu is a second-year undergraduate Media Design student at University North in Croatia. Their interest in design stems from a passion for creating meaningful visual experiences and finding imaginative ways to communicate ideas.

Their work explores different areas of design, ranging from graphic and editorial design to branding, typography and visual communication, with each discipline understood as a distinctive form of storytelling. They approach design as a balance of creativity, functionality and emotion, and as a means of informing, inspiring and connecting people.

Through academic projects, Valentina continues to develop creative thinking, refine a personal visual language and explore new approaches to design.
