Zagreb Film Club

Project
The project Poster Series for Zagreb Film Club was created to promote three short films by Kinoklub Zagreb: Achephalus, Showgirls and Stray. Rather than using film stills or characters, each poster interprets its film through a symbol or figure that conveys its atmosphere instead of directly illustrating the narrative. In this way, the posters spark curiosity and leave space for viewers to form their own interpretations before watching the films.
The depicted motifs do not function merely as illustrations, but actively interact with the titles, becoming part of the typography and the overall composition. This creates a coherent visual system that unifies the series while still giving each poster a distinct identity.
All illustrations were created specifically for this project. They are treated as independent visual elements, appearing as though they were cut out of a book and pasted onto the posters. This approach emphasises the playful relationship between image and typography while reflecting the DIY spirit and independent character of Kinoklub Zagreb.
