SOUV

SOUV

Project

The “SOUV” project transforms a souvenir from a static object into an interactive interface. By tapping an NFC tag or scanning a QR code, the physical product becomes an entry point to a private digital experience connected to a particular destination, cultural institution, event or journey.

During registration, users connect SOUV to a personal account, choose whether to keep it or give it as a gift, and begin adding photographs, videos and written memories. Each object opens a personal Memory Page where user-generated content is combined with selected stories, recommendations and information related to the place or experience.

A timeline organises memories chronologically, while an automatically generated video turns selected content into a shareable summary. The Collections feature allows multiple SOUV objects to be brought together within a growing digital archive of memories.

A unified design system connects the public website and the product interface, covering registration, memory creation, content discovery and collection management. By linking a physical object with a digital space that develops over time, SOUV creates a lasting connection with the experience beyond the visit itself.

Author

Digital Innovations is a Croatian company specialising in digital products, web platforms and connected user experiences. It conceived and developed the “SOUV” project, which began as an internal exploration of how a physical object could become an interface for storing personal digital memories.

With financial support from the European Union, the company brought together a multidisciplinary team specialising in product strategy, interaction design, visual identity, illustration, physical product design and software development. Additional expertise was provided by the Dutch partner Akker B.V.

Digital Innovations led the concept development, product direction and technical implementation, transforming SOUV from an initial idea into a functional physical-digital system. The system is now used in collaboration with tourist destinations, cultural institutions and local partners across Croatia.
