Wandering the streets of his hometown of Krapina, the author immersed himself in the stories of the elderly about a former epicenter of trade and culture, once rich with diverse crafts. He witnessed their disappearance and the adaptation of local culture to fit a modern tourist narrative.

Over the past few decades of capitalism, Krapina's cultural heritage has been commercialized and packaged into a falsely commodified, presentable product. This form of passive historical rewrite unfolded slowly and unnoticed, leading to a collective forgetting of the town's authentic culture in favor of a more profitable version.

“An Anti-Guide through Krapina” serves as the author's reminder and testament, created for the residents of Krapina. Through transparent pages, the publication reveals the layered structure of this commodified city. By adding or removing layers as the pages turn, it exposes what was chosen to be hidden, replaced, or altered throughout the town's long history.

Depending on the direction of reading, the reader either strips away the commodified version of the town or participates in its construction. Although this interaction appears passive, it suggests that through their own passivity and neutrality, the individual becomes part of the problem.
