The “Between the Lines” project examines conscientious objection in healthcare in Croatia, drawing on the applicable legal framework and publicly available data up to January 2026. The project resulted in a publication that draws attention to the inadequate regulation of conscientious objection, which can hinder access to medical procedures permitted by law.

All data presented in the publication are publicly available, and readers are encouraged to compare them and critically examine the relationship between the existing legal framework and statistical indicators. The selected material evokes the atmosphere of the hospital and institutional settings in which such situations occur, emphasising the gravity and clinical detachment of the subject.
